Dr. Michael Cheuk

Michael Cheuk, our Pastor, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. In 2004, he completed his Ph.D. in Religious Ethics at the University of Virginia. He became the Senior Minister at Farmville Baptist on August 1, 2005. Before moving to Farmville, he served as an Associate Minister at University Baptist Church in Charlottesville, and as a Baptist Student Union Director at two community colleges in Texas. Rev. Amanda Johnston

Amanda Johnston, our Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Growth, is a native of Martinsville, Virginia. She attended Sweet Briar College, graduating in May, 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Dance. Ordained by First Baptist Church Martinsville on November 12, 2006, Amanda is a recent graduate of Duke Divinity School She received her Masters of Divinity and Certificate in Baptist Studies while at Duke. She is married to John, who is a professional musician.

Anita Lynn

Choir Director: anita (at) farmvillebaptist.org

Anita Lynn is serving as our interim Choir Director. She has been a member of Farmville Baptist Church and the sanctuary choir for 6 years. She has enjoyed singing in vocal ensembles ever since she was a child, but this is her first foray into choral directing. Anita enjoys playing handbells and has served as co-director of FBC's handbell choir since 2002. She also teaches Musikgarten, an international movement and music program for young children, through the local YMCA. Anita is married to Jay Lynn, former director of the Baptist Student Union at Longwood University. Anita and Jay have two young children, Katie and Sam.
